the operative word here is "obsessed"... I enjoyed the original movies in 78, 80, and 82.. (not sure if those dates are accurate), and not so much "Return of the Jedi".... BUT.. that was it, I don't go to conventions, and I have not seen any of the movies in over ten plus years.... I would have to say, that the "Trekies" are worse though... they learn how to speak "Klingon"... what a waste of time, and life.
First off, the Star Wars universe is one of the most in depth and well thought out series ever created, it certainly deserves its loyal fanbase, also before you insult klingon how many people do you know that are so passionate about something to learn a whole new language, also the klingon culture is much more pure hearted then ours, so maybe show a litle respect to the people who indulge in such intellectually stimulating experiences as star wars and star trek.
