Probably for the same reason pale women are still considered attractive (especially if they are fat enough) while pale men not. Why? Maybe our unjust world has put higher standards for men. Or maybe pale skin is subconsciously seen as effeminate (and more suitable for women) being a trait of pampered indoor lifestyle and lack of sunshine endurance..

I think it is biological, tan men can withstand the sun and hunt while pale women are good at having pretty babies
You have to be fat to be attractive as pale? Im pale as fuck and just as skinny.
