Why are cyclists always angry?

They zip through red lights like it’s nothing, but when you pass a little too close because they’re blocking a two lane road talking to each other, they get infuriated and yell profanities at you. Or when you signal to make a right turn and they’re speeding in the bike lane, they’ll smash their fist in the roof of your car.

Cyclists are often (in my eyes) people from wealthier backgrounds/occupations. They feel a sense of entitlement to do certain things as they please whilst riding. Not all of them are bad, not all of them are wealthy. That said, the ones I've seen that've caused incidents and gone to court on the matter have often been capable of buying their way out of trouble. They're people capable of buying local councils and parliaments into agreeing cyclists are the victims (even when dashcam footage tells the truth). They're a difficult bunch to deal with.

Cyclists who bike on the road are dumbasses and shouldn't whine if they get hit tbh

In the UK they legally have to cycle on the road. They aren't allowed to cycle on the pavement.

It's fucking stupid. I don't know why they make them do it. No wonder cyclists and motorists get so pissed off with each other, it's a flawed system.

Cycling on busy roads is quite stressful, most cyclists would prefer not to but footpaths are usually blocked by pedestrians and bins and stuff and you have to go up and down kerbs all the time.

What many don't realize is that people are assholes both in a car and on a bike. You can take an asshole out of a car and put him on a bike, but he is still an asshole. Some break the rules, some don't.

Do you bad mouth all drivers because of the car that cut you off and made your coffee spill all over when you hit the brakes?

The worst is when that happens and they wave and laugh with body language saying, "oops, sorry I almost killed you....my bad."

Yes, not all cyclists follow the rules of the road, and that's a shame, but I believe the reason they get so angry is because an automobile driver who isn't paying attention could kill them. I'm not taking sides here, I'm just stating the obvious.

Rhles of the road legally in Ireland is for cyclists to be on the road but then crossings are on pedestrian roads.

I go on both, Ireland makes me go like ???

Golly, I don't even know. I believe cyclists are considered pedestrians here in the States.

Not all cyclists are like that, but I have noticed the ones that are, are usually dressed like they are doing the Tour de France and have those stupid racing bicycles. These are the biggest assholes on the road. Even worse than cab drivers, delivery drivers and bus drivers put together!

If a cyclist zooms through a red light, hogs the lane, speeds on a busy sidewalk and starts fights with other road users, that is 100 percent a wannabe Lance Armstrong straw-man masochist. Cause only an idiot masochist with a fetish for annoying people would put himself through that crap on a daily basis.

Also if a cyclist banged on the roof of my car, I'm gonna bang on his head, repeatedly! Should there be any damage to my car, even the tiniest scratch, I will take legal action and make that bastard's life a living hell! Even if I have to waste over a grand to do it! Treat others the way you want to be treated! I've contemplated on getting a truck air-horn for my E-class... to deal with sunday drivers and road hogs.

I cycle myself, but those Tour de France wannabees annoy the shit out of me. It felt great when I didn't let a hoard of them pass and they had to wait for me.

Back in Bulgaria I had a bunch of them hog a mountain road for a good 5 minutes. When I did overtake them and was given the finger multiple times, I then turned off the ESP, slowed down and when they caught up, I floored it.

If I floor my modded E420CDI from a standstill after driving at low rpms for a bit, it will chuck a nice diesely, sooty, black cloud as the turbos spool up. That coupled with the screeching tires, loud V8 exhaust and me with my left arm out the window flipping them off is enough to teach the wannabe Lance Armstrongs a lesson about road etiquette.

I used to cycle to university a lot before graduating, but I always obeyed the rules of the road and rode in the bicycle lane, not on the road like a scummy idiot.

To be fair, I think it's more of a person to person thing than it is a cyclist thing.

Come spring I'll be bicycling to work. Let me tell you I will ne avoiding the road as much as possible. The side walk is my ally not the street. As someone who's been walking to work for the past 2 years let me tell you the amount of times I've almost been run over at just crosswalks is kinda scary.

So yea I dont blame cyclists from being angry. No one wants to get run over

The pavement is a pain in the ass tho, you have to go up and down curbs while crossing side streets, dodge pedestrians and anything else that might be in your way. The road is actually usually the safest option as long as you follow the rules and pull over to let cars overtake if there isnt much room

Honestly I rarely encounter other pedestrians or curb hopping. Every single time I've ridden on the street though its caused me some kind of problem. 2 out of 2 times haha. In my new town bikers gotta take the road but I'm gonna press my luck on it. Frankly I dont feel safe or comfortable riding a bike in traffic. I would rather pull to the side 100 times 100% of the time.

If you are quick you can use the road without much trouble in my experience, but I guess if you just want to cruise along at a relaxed pace the pavement would be better

Yea I'm not a hard core cyclist. I dont even own a helmet. I simply use it to commute to work. Seriously not owning a car saves you so much money it's not even funny

I live in quite a small city but there are a lot of hills, im thinking of putting an electric motor on my bike, it would probably be better than a petrol scooter without having to pay tax and insurance or having a license. I reckon I could get anywhere in my city within half an hour then.

Many cyclists get killed and injured on thr road. As they ride about in darkness with no reflectors or lights I think they must like being run over!

Lol im sorry...cyclists are one of my pet peeves. The ones who wear sulky tight outfits and dart out in traffic anyway.
To me biking is for trails or little kids. I mean we dont live in Amsterdam. I might be a bit unfair but ive nearly been in accidents because of careless cyclists do yeah i wish they were more careful.
