Why am i treated with utter apathy by guys?

Ok, i'm 19 next month, i've never had a boyfriend, the thing that worries me though is that i've never been told i'm attractive or pretty by any guy, excluding drunken old men whilst i'm at work.

I don't consider myself to be that unattractive, i'm around 5'7", size 14, 36D, shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes, fairly tanned and i've got a fairly round face. I wear surf branded clothes, t shirts & jeans, that sort of thing. I weigh just under 12st, so yeah, i'm fairly fat; but i'm going to the gym every night, and playing semi-professional tennis to change this. I'm fairly clever and quiet, however if somebody makes an effort to talk to me i'll quite happily chat back to them.

The guy i last went after as a romantic pursuit ended up my best friend, however nothing romantic ever happened between us, its just started to make me wonder, am i really that unattractive?

  • Your only 19! You shouldn't be worrying about this really. Just go to college and maybe you will find someone, but focus on your education.

personally, i usually don't give out compliments with people i don't know well since it sometimes comes out wrong or is misunderstood

A woman in a snug pair of Levis blue jeans is a treat to my eyes.

Size 14 isn't that big, in fact it's average for more women to be a size 14, definitely at 5"7'

Just have more confidence in yourself and maybe going to the gym will make you feel better about yourself, and you will see some results and maybe a guy might notice you. :3 Sometimes it just takes feeling really good about yourself to attract people in your life. Goodluck.

Probably the easiest change you could make is to try dressing differently for awhile and see what happens. It sounds sexist, but men are visually-stimulated creatures, and nine-tenths of their initial attraction comes through their eyes. For example, a form-flattering dress or skirt and top, paired with a moderately sexy pair of dress boots. Be confident, smile and make direct eye contact.

You are only 19, you really shouldn't be too worried. But try experimenting with your wardrobe. You don't have to dress like a prostitute, but something as simple as clothing makes a big difference. You will be able to take your pick.

Go to the gym before breakfast. That helped me when I was a little chubby. It burns the calories that you haven't eaten yet. But I know how you feel. The world is a shallow place to be honest. Don't let it get you down.

The question seems a bit shallow but...if you want to get an idea research facial symmetry online. Studies show that people who have symmetrical faces, especially the eyes, tend to be more attractive to those that don't.

Looks don't really matter that much though, it helps with initial attraction but what counts is your personality.
