Your self esteem is low. Don't think lowly of yourself. Physical attraction and sex appeal isn't everything. When you look in the mirror, try to look how beautiful/handsome you are instead of finding the flaws of how you look
...I used to think about myself in this way, especially when the person who would give me the compliment was my mother...I would often argue with her...yes, this is very much a low self esteem issue, and I started looking at other guys (yes, I'm a man) and would think and ask myself about what I like about myself more than about that man physically (and, no, I'm not gay...just trying to get myself to look more positively at myself).
