...I used to think about myself in this way, especially when the person who would give me the compliment was my mother...I would often argue with her...yes, this is very much a low self esteem issue, and I started looking at other guys (yes, I'm a man) and would think and ask myself about what I like about myself more than about that man physically (and, no, I'm not gay...just trying to get myself to look more positively at myself).
