Why all the old posts on recently commented

Ok this website sucks but seriously why are all the old posts showing up on the recently commented on list.

    Some dude bumps them. You don't always see the comment because this site has bugs and it affects new and old posts. I believe it's the shadow banned comments that you don't see but still somehow affect other SQL queries.

      I've always thought its some moron who adds and then deletes his comment to keep these mostly sick threads relevent.

    Could be people searching through categories, or most popular posts, sometimes it will be an older thread linked in the reccomended stories. You're not seeing the new comments because they're sorted by up/downvotes so it's probably hiding somewhere in the middle of the thread.

      No the new comments aren't there. I look and I know they aren't chronological.

      I use the recently commented on list and they show up there with no new comments

      As someone said. Someone bumps them. It's just some asshole.

    The posts aren't dated, only the comments. So I can see why people make the mistake.

      The problem I have is most of these threads dont even have a new comment on them. Something is pushing them, be it code or something else.

        The comment will be there. They don't show in chronological order so it will be hidden in the middle of the thread.
