The Jews never should have been given the Palestinian's lands. However, once the international community had made it's decision, it should also have made arrangements for the Palestinians to have a place of their own, as well.
Be that as it may, that didn't happen and the Palestinians turned to terrorism to attract attention to their plight, eventually killing thousands of innocents not in any way involved; hijacking airplanes, the Olympic killings, on and on.
Several military attacks on Israel failed miserably and Israel took territory to use as a buffer zone from their Arab neighbors, lands the Arabs now want back, without agreeing to cease hostilities against Israel.
So, what would YOU do if you were Israel?
Just roll over and give in to an enemy who has vowed to destroy you and kill every single man, woman and child of Israel? An enemy who fires hundreds of rockets into your country each week? An enemy who sends men, women and children with suicide vests into your country to blow up your citizens in markets or on buses?
Or do you fight back, doing your best to make these attacks so costly that they will stop?
