Person 1. I'm very quiet about my secrets and preferences because I imagine they would turn off any significant other. The idea of me being able to be completely open with someone, and them with me, is a serious turn-on.
The urge of just opening yourself with someone is exhilarating and tempting, but you're right, it can be a turn-off. It would suck to read books if revealed everything in chapter 1. I think the key is moderation. Every *worthy* significant out there would love to know about your secrets and preferences, if you let them in little by little.
I'm a curious person by nature but I dated a person once who emotionally let me in little by little. Everytime I learned something, there was another emotional "door" that was locked, and while I tried opening it, I didn't try to break it down. The result = was interested in them for the entirety of the 3 years I knew them :)
It's not the speed of the information I was talking about, it was the nature of it. My stuff can get weird.
Knowing absolutely everything about a person instantly, especially if I'm spending my whole life with them, doesn't bother me in the least. The spice of the relationship wouldn't be in figuring them out, it would be in having a real partner in this world that I can experience everything with.
Who would you want to spend the rest of your entire life with?
