Who would you kill and/or die to protect?

I'm taking a philosophy class and we are learning about State of Nature. Which is a state where there is no government and complete freedom. But at the same time it would be every person for themselves and would be complete chaos. And we if we lived in a state of nature we would still have loved ones, and because of that freedom it would be a much more violent world. So who/what would you protect and kill/die for?

    I would kill to protect, in order:

    - Myself
    - My best friend.
    - My youngest brother.
    - My older brother.
    - My mother.

    I don't understand how someone would't kill another in this scenario, especially in defense to protect someone. You have a stranger coming to harm your group, someone (who you defend) that has done no harm to them, so who is less worthy to be alive in the eyes of the defender, the victim that done no wrong, or the person come to do harm?

    If you kill it must be justified. So I would form a gang and kill all the rapist and pedophiles first. After saving and or avenging the victims I would gain praise and admiration from those I protected. I would become sheriff of an unlawful town.

        There has been people literally caught in the act. There have also been people who have announced it like many of those wonderful teachers. There is people who have been caught with pictures and footage of them being sexual with children. Smut film of them committing the crimes. So you are going to free the peadophiles and rapists? Good man! I am glad to know there is people like you in the world. Also no we are not living in the movie. I am simply going with OP scenario of no law. If I had to choose who to kill it would be rapists and peadophiles.

    The only good thing to come out of going to war at 17 was that I learned to "get it done" without guilt or remorse, if I wanted to survive.
    I would have no compunction in "taking out the trash", so to speak, to protect those I care for.
    It also wouldn't bother me in the slightest to do the same to people who are cruel to those who can't defend themselves or are cruel to animals.

    If the world turned to shit, I'd kill pretty much anyone to protect myself or my loved ones. I'd like to say I'd only kill in self defense, but in a world gone mad, who knows what a human being is capable of?

    I would only kill to protect myself. I wouldn't give a rat's ass about anyone else. That doesn't mean i don't care about others. It's just the fact that i value my own life more than i value theirs and i wouldn't risk my safety to protect someone who most likely wouldn't do the same for me.

    My boyfriend and my best friend only. My mom is a non-self-sufficient whore who can't take care of herself (and relies on men) and my dad is a cheating bastard who only cares about his REALLY ugly ass girlfriend. (Literally, she looks like a dog. IDK how he f**ks her. She has an ugly face, pancake boobs, and a pancake ass. We don't know if she birthed his son (my only other possible sibling) 5 years ago when he was "happily" married to my mom. The rest of my family are sorry rednecks.

    My best friend is probably my life. We do everything together and relate on so many levels. I love her and take her everywhere. We go on benders together and do crazy stuff. I'd do anything for my friends, or my REAL family.

    I have the boyfriend any teenage girl could dream for. We've been dating a year. He's handsome, a soccer player, smart, wealthy, and would do anything for me. I also love his family. Both of these people would die for me too. I'll never put all of my love and trust into a boy, just in case, but hopefully we have the strength to keep going. :)

    In a state of nature, we would ally ourselves in groups and numbers to keep our friends and family safe.

    In a state of nature, to truly protect? i'd kill them first and die in battle otherwise.

    There are things I would die for and even more I would kill for. While I think people will disagree I actually support anarchy. I think the government is corrupt and I think in a world without law people would be their own law. People wouldn't commit crime as much as people think because they would be scared of being killed for taking advantage of other people. People would be responsible of taking the law into their own hands. People should be more scared of what someone might do to them than scared of a law system that doesn't even work correctly. I would never kill for greedy purposes but I would kill to defend myself or someone I cared about.

    I can't think of anyone I'd honestly risk my life for. I don't feel extremely, passionately, life-riskingly protective of any individual people. Maybe that's because I'm young and I've never been in a position of care for or responsibility over someone weaker than myself. I feel that the people I love would rather fight their own battles than let me do it for them, no matter how short the odds of survival were. Maybe because that's what I feel myself.

    I wouldn't want someone to ever risk their life to save mine, even if they were much stronger than me and even if they completely wanted to. I would be ashamed that I had been helped, guilty that I'd put them through that experience, and furious that they hadn't let me fight on my own. I might even kill myself since no other option would seem fair. I say that in all seriousness as someone who has no suicidal urges of any kind.
