Heath Ledger is the seemingly obvious choice for live action, but for me Mark Hamill's voice will always be the Joker's definitive voice

I really really appreciated Joaquin Phoenix’s version. But it really showed him as a victim and a hero.

My favorite is Joaquin Phoneix and ive never been a huge fan of Ledgers Joker and happen to think people prefer him because he died but I dont know the whole movie is a bit overrated but he wasnt a bad Joker I just really liked Joaquins portrayal of mental illness and found his origin story to be interesting plus Joaquin is an amazing actor, not that Heath wasnt but yeah its just an opionion

We'd need Joker's sequel to judge that. Phoenix's performance was just laying the scaffolding. I feel that while Joker focuses on the human side and back story, the next movie will see him fully evolved into the character that Ledger portrayed.

I love Jack Nicholson but at the time he played the character the genre was still super corny. All the characters from that era like Ice Man, Riddler, etc were awful despite having great actors playing them.

I do not care for joaquin phoenix. I think it was his role in Gladiator or Gladheateher. Something just wrong about a brother being so hung up in love with his sister. Yikes.
I voted Heath Ledger.

Joaquin's portrayal, albeit a phenomenal performance, would need a sequel to be a complete joker role. Jack Nicholson was too cheesy. Unfortunately I never caught the old batman from the 60s. Jared Leto could have done more but they made him marginal. Heath Ledger nailed it (RIP).

Joaquin did a great job, but at the end of the day when most people think of Joker they think of Heath Ledger.

Heath ledger is the obvious champion in this fight.
