Who should have the right of way?

I am so confused and almost scared to drive now. I moved to TX, I absolutely love it here btw, but their roads, I've never seen anything like this. Cruising down the middle of a main rd and the speed limits are usually between 55-75 and you actually are the one who has to stop for someone coming off an off ramp from the main highway! I've never seen anything like this and came close to getting creamed on the drivers side today because I had no clue. Anywhere else I've ever been if you're coming off an off ramp from the highway you need to yield, not the people driving on the road you are trying to merge on. Its the freakiest thing and I'm wondering if it's like this anywhere else??

The main rd 7
The off ramp 1

Oh Gawd, no! I'm moving to Delaware so I'm hoping it's nice, or at least okay. I've honestly never wanted to live in the Northeast.

        • I hope you find a nice spot there, but everything I seen of Delaware I swore I would never go back. It was very industrial and really scummy. I have met a few people that moved there and said they found a decent spot on the outskirts of all that. I hope it works out for ya!

People in Mississippi are pretty nice to be honest, and I still LOVE Louisiana.

I certainly miss Texas and Louisiana. So far I'm not impressed with Delaware, but I haven't seen much of it so I dunno.

What is the question? Is it freaky? Which one should yield?

First, no. Second, The lane merging should yield.

    • Ya I suppose in short it's what you said-the lane merging should be the one yielding. With the fast speed limits it's especially difficult to have to slam the break for someone barreling off the highway. Its worse because they have to cut in front off both sides of the rd with the off ramp. I guess I was wondering if it's like this anywhere else or just here.
