There was good music from both, but as someone who really enjoys '70s and '80s music, I'd have to say I'd lean towards 1976. That isn't to say 1999 didn't have some good music too, though.
I was born in 1995 and often think I missed out on some pretty cool pop culture (although really, you can enjoy it at any time, not just during the era it came out in), and most of my favorite music is from before I was born. Even though there was some fun stuff in the '90s too, I was 4 when the '90s ended, so it isn't like I got to really experience much of it when it was fresh and new. Personally, I do not miss 2000's butt rock at all and eternally sick of it from when it was all the rage and constantly playing on the radio, and am not a fan of the mumble rap (or heavily rap/hip-hop/R&B influenced music, just not my taste and it seems to be everywhere; I wish rock would make a comeback, but not in the butt rock-y Five Finger Death Punch style), autotune, and jumbled noises that make up most of the music that seems to be playing on the radio a lot these days. There are a few good songs mixed in, but it seems like they're in the minority. I'm hoping soon the trend will shift to some fun stuff again! After all, we are in the beginning of a new decade and the trends should start shifting to something different at any time now, so I'm hoping it's an improvement for once!
I tend to agree. I like the early '90s because they were still trailing off of the '80s and still retained a bit of that cool '80s sound.
Beavis and Butt-head always featured a lot of cool music videos from around that time (and that's another thing I miss, the older music videos! They used to be almost an art form and tell a story, and there's just something kind of magical about '80s and '90s music videos that can't be replicated).
I think so, too. A lot of them nowadays are just the person standing there and singing, or doing something ridiculous like twerking in front of the camera!
Who's birth year had the better music? Me or my mom's?

Music from the first half of the 90s was generally far better than the stuff from the second half, IMO.

Yes. Music videos had something magical about them. I think they put a lot more effort into making them back then.
