to me it's sort of hypocritical to say your punishment for killing someone if we kill you. We are trying to show people violence isn't the way yet we are punishing with violence. For example say as a kid if you hit your brother/sister and your parents tell you it's not good to hit and your punishment is they get to hit you. Isn't that just promoting that it's okay to use violence when need be.
Oh and I also feel death penalty is the easy way out. I think life in prison with no chance of parol is a worse punishment. To me I'd rather get the death penalty than life in prison. The death penalty is an easy way out. And it promotes violence fixes violence which it's obvious it doesn't.
