I couldn't believe that Crystal didn't win. Just like I couldn't believe that Adam Lambert didn't win last season. I don't think I can watch it anymore haha.
No reason to be surprised, in voting reality competition shows, it isn't the better person who wins, it's the person with a bigger fan base, based on things other than their skill.
That's why shows like America's Best Dance Crew decided to let America only decide the bottom two, while the judges have the final say on who leaves (And even then, there was at least one time where the obviously best 2 crews were in the bottom two, and the judges decided not to send either home)
