Who are really the perverts, men or women?

  • I agree with most of your comment there, but please tell me that you aren't implying that men, in general, are programmed to rape, kill, or drug women to get what they want. I've only known a couple of guys in my life who don't see behaviour like that as disgusting. As far as "getting" a woman drunk, the woman is still responsible for her actions, which is not in the least way predatory on the mans part, unless you mean waiting until she passes out, which is rape. I had an older woman bring me beer when I was younger to "loosen me up". It worked and it wasn't predatory because I am the one responsible for my own actions, inebriated or not.

    • It's common sense that not all men do this.

I get where you're coming from, but nah, I'm not a misandrist; just a realist. Men are capable of rape, and do it way more than women. Getting someone drunk/high is a legit strategy to get sex among many people (yes, I meant men and women). You can't ignore it or dress that shit up, it happens.

Where does the line end and begin on personal responsibility and drinking; at what level is considered impaired? You believe it's when a woman is passed out; but personally, I think it's when a woman is staggering and dazed, yet conscious; at that point she can't be responsible for what comes next other than the terrible hangover the next day.

As for "loosen me up," the definition of those words may vary. While it comes across innocent in your situation, others may see it differently. For example, I had a friend who explained that loosening a woman up is getting her so drunk she wont remember what happened last night, that she's open for anything; basically, completely shit-faced. He didn't see anything wrong with it, and that it's her fault for drinking so much around people. At the end of the day, it's all subjective.

      • "at that point she can't be responsible"

If she got in a car and tried to drive she would be responsible. The law is wrong here. You are either responsible for all actions while drunk or you aren't.

I would love to see a lawyer use this double standard in a DUI case.

        • Awh damn we getting driving on this talk of rape, oooh shit it's getting real now!

Nah, the law is and will always be fucked, and opinions will always differ. Though I want to, I never go out drinking. If I get too drunk and raped, some will say it's my fault and others will say I'm a victim and charge the guy; either way I got raped and just have to live with that shit, lesson learned don't go out and have fun.
