  • I think I understand what the OP is going through. He's not saying he hates it that people whisper. He's not acting paranoid. It's the actual sound of the whispering that pisses me off, and elicits a violent visceral reaction in me. For example, let's say you like black pepper in your soup or your steak. You may like black pepper, but it still makes you sneeze. Lately I've had to mute the TV when any of the numerous commercials come on where they have a little kid whispering in what is supposed to be a cutesy moment. I want to throttle that kid, it actually makes me feel like there's acid inside my skin when I hear them. Think about it, this reaction has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not they are talking about me. Usually they're talking about Disneyland, or Subarus, or some other stupid commercial sh*t. So it's got nothing to do with paranoia, and everything to do with some kind of biological, neurological hard wiring that's antagonistic to the sound of the whispering, not whatever it is they are saying.
