Why is a U.S. state a separate region, and why is it Hawaii/Other as if all other places are somehow Hawaiian? That's the equivalent of me saying Lancashire/Other because Lancashire is a subdivision of my country. And what if you're from New Zealand, Polynesia, Micronesia, or Russia or Turkey, which are largely Asiatic, but also partly European? And we shouldn't forget the Caribbean or Indonesian.
Anyway, yeah, to get back to the point, I'm from Lancashire/Other.

they are all connected together, if people where to choose their particular residing country, then the list would have to list ALL countries.
Why is japan lumped together with a bunch of countries that have almost no relation?
