Really, truly, my point for saying this is that there should never be
1) A double standard that applies to some groups but not to others
2) An assumption that one group specifically is by virtue of its existence "racist"
I say this because at the moment, it's socially tolerated too often to make assumptions about people described as "white" or of European ancestry. Doing so constitutes racism. If no one should be so insensitive/rude as to tell a person of a given race, "it applies more to X race than other races..." it applies either to everyone or no one. People shouldn't be singled out and have things said to them/about them BECAUSE of their race, and to do that really is racism, regardless of who makes the comment and to whom it is directed.
I'm sure you do see and understand why someone might find the comment objectionable, so thank you for the clarification.
Seeing as you took the time you write such a detailed and thoughtful response, I shall appreciate it by telling you that I have read it, and basically agree.
I think what you are accusing me of is stereotyping, and this is definitely a fault of mine. It is tempting to stereotype the white race as racist though, just because of the whole Nazi thing, and the problems that drove Martin Luther King Jr. to speech.Perhaps making statement based on the past is inherently unwise though, and if so, I apologize.
Whatever the case though, I love the white race, and every other race. And I believe that while my tastes may differ from others', we are all equal.
