Which person deserved the plaque?

  • Person: 1 I have low regard for people who don't understand the concept of limiting their alcohol consumption. I want to feel sorry for them and I know I should feel bad for saying that because "everybody makes mistakes", but I've gone an entire lifetime without having been so horribly drunk that I couldn't figure out where I was sleeping. I'm sure most people could if they tried hard enough. Pass.

Person 2: I would say that they deserve the plaque. This person legitimately fought for their lives when they could have just as easily have given up and avoided years of pain.

Person 3: Not that I don't feel bad that this person was driven to suicide (a lot of people don't understand just how drastic a measure suicide is, even to people who commit it) but to me it almost seems like an insult to Person 2. Person 2 fought for their lives and would have gratefully switched places with Person 3; they would have rather been bullied or dumped than have to have fought a deadly chronic illness.

Person 3, despite what anyone could say about the nature of suicide, threw the gift of life back at the world and refused to appreciate the fact that they were (and yes, I am assuming) born with even a somewhat healthy body and some semblance of an opportunity to lead a normal life. Person 2 would have gladly taken their place.

Bear in mind, before the torches and pitchforks roll in, this is all my presumption. I can't say anything for sure because I don't know these three people but upon first glance, Person 2 wins.
