Little dogs barking are funny. You and they both know they're not going to act on it, otherwise they already would. I smile sweetly at them. Much like I do at bigger, more human dogs making such threats.
That's always the temptation, I have to admit. I want to let them bark for ten minutes and then muster up a mega-bark to shock them into silence. It crosses my mind but I'd never do it. I try to befriend them.
Don't get me wrong, that's how I befriend them! I speak dog. How else would I date anyways?
So, the other day, evening really, I walked past a house and this tiny old cute pincher wearing green scares the shit out of me with his surprise incessant barking. My natural reaction is to jump back and @&$,*#^. So it stops, looks confused and looks inside, as if asking: "ok, I scared one, now what do I do next?" Sooo adorable!!!
Hehe, I love that about dogs. When I was a kid, the family dog cornered a cat after about six years of trying. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. She'd always been committed to the chase. But when it was just her and cat locked in their moment, her face almost fell as she realised she'd been chasing cats all her life but she didn't know why.
