    Since its just between the two, unlike the rest I will stay on topic and go with Gold, much more historic and symbolic (like being a currency back in ancient Egypt and Rome), platinum is overrated..

      Hematite is a mineral iron ore and not classically magnetic. It's antiferromagnetic so it would not respond to a common magnet.
