  • Which is the grammatically correct way to *write* this?
    Are you not in the stairwell, i.e. they (the stairs) are under you, which would mean you are on the stairs?

      • I think on since you are standing on the stairs. However if it is one of those in which its like a separate room I guess in. So I guess they are both correct. Since you are in the area in which the stairs are located but you are standing on them. So you are on the stairs. I am sorry for being no help this question has confused me.
