  • Why are you calling people in relationships single just because they're not married? That's weird and just plain incorrect, if they're in a relationship then they're by definition not single.

An unmarried relationship that's lasted the same amount of time as a married couple is just as strong. Yes I have met a couple who have been together over 10 years without getting married. My uncle has been with his partner for about 30 years and they've never bothered getting married because they don't see the point in it, and they're the happiest couple I've ever known (they did actually get engaged a few years after they met but never bothered getting married). They fully intend to be together the rest of their lives and I have no doubt they will.

It sounds more serious cheating with a married man because you know if he's married then his relationship is definitely at least a few years old. There's no way of telling how old an unmarried man's relationship is, other than by asking him. So you'd assume the married man's relationship is older, therefore it's more serious for him to cheat. But if the unmarried man's relationship is older, then it is more serious for him to cheat.
