Personally I prefer public school (not that I have any experience with homeschooling), because I think that a child cannot develop normally without learning social skills with other children. It's good for them to be exposed to children their own age when they're young so they'll function properly in society and wont have angst to socialize.
I realize that ever case is different but, in my case, my family made sure to put me into after school programs, summer camp, and extracurricular activities, to make sure that I was around kids my own age. (I can't help but to feel that, a lot of their reasoning was based on keeping up appearances.) Despite this, I never felt like I fit in with my peers. I would always be treated differently once they found out that I was home schooled. I grew to hate/fear their reactions so much that, I wouldn't tell people the truth about my schooling. It was better to let them assume, than to be ostracized.
Which do you prefer?
