Public school taught me virtually nothing academically, but it did teach me enough about playing and making friends that I'm still playing and making friends even now.
Educationally, though, I'd have been much better served by being locked in a huge library for eight hours a day and spending half the time with recommended reading and the other half just self-directed. Virtually everything I know, I've gone and found out myself anyway.
I don't think public school really benefits people. Its just a prison to assure children are not robbing houses when the adults are away. I do not think education is really the goals of these facilities.
Which do you prefer?
