I realize that ever case is different but, in my case, my family made sure to put me into after school programs, summer camp, and extracurricular activities, to make sure that I was around kids my own age. (I can't help but to feel that, a lot of their reasoning was based on keeping up appearances.) Despite this, I never felt like I fit in with my peers. I would always be treated differently once they found out that I was home schooled. I grew to hate/fear their reactions so much that, I wouldn't tell people the truth about my schooling. It was better to let them assume, than to be ostracized.
