I'd go for the bunker in the mountains. Only one entrance to guard. And I like living underground, it's cool and dry. I'm originally a prarie girl, but the mountains are pretty. It would be fine, as long as I have enough food, plumbing, electricity, enertainment (books i guess), and water
Eventually you would have to leave your bunker (assuming that you have a moderate sized one with enough supplies to last you for only about 2 years). You will have to become a scavenger which means you will have to come outside. This could leave you vulnerable to being picked off by:
(1) Zombies scattered across the landscape
(2) Mercenaries who will want you for:
- Sex
- Food ( if they are cannibalistic)
- Your resources
- Just to kill you "because" they are crazy
(3) Wild animals running amuck
Personally, while a concrete bunker in the mountains is a better choice than some of the others listed above, I would not to be anywhere that provides my enemies an advantage.
If you establish your base on land, you will give your enemies leverage, reach, and traction.
If you establish your base on the sea, you will minimize animal attacks (if you stay out of the water) and attacks from zombies (unless your vessel drifts into a port without your knowledge, docks, and zombies board it). The only real threat you have to concern yourself with are pirates. If you weapon up yourself and your vessel, you have a fighting chance. If you don't want to chance running out of gas for your boat's engine, use a sailboat instead.
Which Base Would You Choose During The Zombie Apocalypse?
