A pet store. The average person didn't give a crap about shelter animals back then. Looking the place back up, some people say they were wholesome and legitimate, but others claim they were a puppy mill. All I know is that $500 is an unnecessary amount to pay for a dog.

What is a reasonable price? Most pet stores get it from puppy mills.
