Ask Your Question today
Is America supposed to represent both North and South America?
yes America is a region on Earth
It's great to see someone else realises that there are very many more countries in America than the usa
That is definitely a pet peeve of mine! I refuse to call the USA America.
Me too, I find it very arrogant for people from the usa to use the term american for their country, which is only one part of america
Exactly, but I also think that America shouldn't be considered just a region on Earth - it's 2 different continents. It makes as much sense as putting Africa and Europe together as a 'region on Earth'.
OK I'm so sorry ! I should have written North America and South America !
What do you call Asians?
Why do you ask?

It's not the only part of the American continent ! ;)
Well, it is but since you listed the other continents individually I figured you missed the fact that each is their own continent.
Edit: wait, I thought you were OP - you answered as if it were you.
why is this downvoted?
Yes.
Anyway, I'm in Brazil and speak English and Portuguese well; then French, Italian and Spanish well enough to get by and have simple conversations.
