yup, it's mainly because people needlessly worry or make it a big deal. I'd have no issues telling the truth if they just moved on past it. But that rarely happens. If I was legit distraught about something, believe me I'd bring it up myself instead of hiding it.
But if it's the common meh days that everyone gets, then it's nbd. I noticed an odd pattern where it's as if I'm supposed to have at least one day in a week where I'm in a rut for no reason. Like it was some sort of phoenix-esque cycle. So I welcome these days, do whatever that gives me the comfort in being sad, and it's flushed out of my system the next day.

I voted "mostly". I mask it unless I'm REALLY, REALLY down. in that case, I doubt I'd see other people.
I'm under the impression that no one but a select few people in one's life will really care and therefore I try to hide it. It may be unhealthy but what can you do?
