I think the human race will die out, simultaneously with every other species on the planet, when the world is destroyed. As for how the earth would be destroyed, it would probably be because of:
a) a meteorite
b) nuclear war
c) collision with the sun
d) pollution of the atmosphere resulting in inhabitable land
