My ex was really into conspiracy theory bullshit. I used to always just see it as annoying and kinda stupid, but now I see it as a red flag. I was in a support group session for victims/survivors of domestic violence, and I noticed something creepy. There were five of us in the meeting, and four out of five of us had an ex who was into conspiracy theory malarkey.
I'm not saying that it's all bullshit, and perhaps there is some truth to some of it, but a lot of it is nonsense. Regardless, the fact that four out of five of us in the session had an ex who was into conspiracy theories leads me to believe that there is a certain type of pathology that many abusers tend to have in their personalities. I aware of narcissistic abusers, but perhaps there's more. I dunno, it really just struck me hard.
I'm not saying that I'm gonna drink society's Koolaid, but I will say too much interest in conspiracy theories will be a red flag for me from here on out.
It would be a red flag for me because such people are delusional and I would have no respect for them. I can't imagine why there would be a link between believing in conspiracies and family violence and I've never come across it, but who knows?
Yeah, it was really weird, and the therapist that leads the support group said she had never noticed anything like that, it was odd that four out of five of us had those type of exes.
I guess the only thing I can think is that if someone is really über into conspiracy theories that person would probably be quite paranoid. I'm thinking a paranoid narcissist isn't a good thing at all. Also a person who really believes that stuff too much gets an inflated ego thinking that he/she knows what's going on better than everyone else.
I hate how people wear a mask, and are on their best behavior to you, me or whomever, then eventually their mask starts to crack open. I was in love with the mask that I thought was one person, but turned out to be an entirely different person. Narcissists will also mirror a person, and copy the person or try to present themselves as the type of person one would want.
When will the human species go extinct?

I dunno, is it normal that I usually don't think of this kinda stuff?

I guess I always think if the end is coming there isn't a thing I can do about it anyway.

Exactly! It's as pointless as worrying about alien abductions or the illiminati or whatever they're called: can't do anything about it so why worry?
