When we answer if its normal

I often don't vote unless it's both acceptable and common. Otherwise I'd leave a reply explaining that it's acceptable but not common, or vice versa.

I'll usually say not normal if their habit harms them/others.

If I just click-vote, I generally mean it's common.

If I do a written reply, I often qualify what I mean. For example: It's 'normal' to have a foot-fetish in the sense that quite a few people do, but 'not normal' in the sense that only a minority of people are sexually obsessed with feet.

It depends on the question, some people are asking how common something is whilst others ask how how acceptable it is.
