    If you love them back, you say 'I love you too'
    If you don't love them anymore, you say 'I love youtube' really fast

    A note to all poll creators:

    Context is important.

    Are we talking about a homeless person with visible headlice and a distinct oniony smell or a rugged, handsome Australian man? Are we talking about someone who's punching my cat or someone who's handing me a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie?

      Oh alright then, sorry for not giving it context and not crossing my t's and dotting my i's . I was out last night and had a bit of a hangover when I wrote it.

      I didn't think of the homeless person with head lice angle.

      However, I am Australian and I could even be considered handsome and rugged if viewed with the right lighting.

      If someone you ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH says, "I love you" what is your reply?

        If the person I'm relationshiping with says I love you, I'd say "I know. I love you too. SILENCE! And get me a beer...I'm watching meh zombie stories! Thanks for the beer...this is nice...oh goddamnit, this is a fosters...I told you no imports *slap*"

    random person (irl) = i would just smile/laugh quietly and go away quickly as possible

    random person (online) = i would probably say they're cute and hope i never talk to them for awhile

    someone joking = i would play along

    friend/acquaintance (irl or otherwise) = ''why?!''

    I've never been comfortable when someone has said that to me. I usually try to laugh it off with sarcasm to avoid the whole thing, something like "you better!" No idea why I get uncomfortable when someone says it.

    It really depends.
    If it's a family member, I say it back.
    If it's someone I just started dating, I tell them it's too soon to say I love you.
    If it's a complete stranger, I have no idea how to react.
