When i take my glasses off my vision is blurry

I got glasses a few years ago for nearsightedness, they did help and when I took them off it wasn't too bad
I lost them, got another eye test and got a new pair but now when I take these off the whole room is a blur and it doesn't get better for hours
It's been months and hasn't improved so I try to avoid wearing them ..
Are my eyes getting worse or becoming dependent or something?
Is this normal?

Your eyes may be getting worse indeed, and perhaps you have another visual problem as well. Report everything to your Ophthalmologist. I don't think it's any kind of dependency, though perhaps your glasses are not adequate for you anymore. Your eyes may also be getting irritated for some reason after you use your glasses. To some extent, these reactions can be normal, but I find it weird that they are taking so long. If this is a big problem, I think you should go back to the doctor. Best of luck!

It could very well be vision getting worse, sometimes these problems are progressive. Clearly you need your glasses, so don't stop wearing them, but talk to your doctor about these concerns. It may just be the way your nearsightedness is progressing as you age, it may be something else that would require a change in your perscription.

From my experience with glasses, it is normal for your vision to get worse from the first time you get glasses.
