When i sneeze, it stinks

For years I've noticed that whenever I sneeze, the air in front of me stinks for a few seconds. Its really annoying and kind of embarrasing. When I sneeze in the car with someone, they roll down the window because the sneeze stinks.

At first I thought maybe I just didn't brush my teeth well enough so I would brush thoroughly, use mouth wash, gargle, brush my tongue. But that didn't help the stinky sneezes.

Also, I noticed that whenever I googled it or asked someone, everyone thought I was crazy because how the hell could a sneeze stink?

Anyone else with this problem? How do I fix it? Is it normal?

my sneezes stink also, thats how i found this site.its the worst hing i ever smelt. It actually happens when my sinuses are feeling good and not all plugged up,i think its because there is an infection somewhere in the sinuses that is blocked up,i was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis.it has really improved since i've been doing a saline sinus flush(netty pot)antibiotics have done nothing.Wow i still cant believe someone else has the same problem.

i'm only 18 and this happens to me. But when i put any kind of liquid in my nose my sinus gets worse. Heat also triggers my sinus attacks

Sounds like you have a sinus condition. Make an appointment with an ENT (ear, nose & throat specialist).

I have this problem as well. My son recently started too. It's an infection in the sinuses. Its unique embarassing odor is the bacteria. I am gonna try saline sinus flushing. Antibiotics usually don't work. See an ENT doc.

No, but I bet if you yell "PIKA" before you sneeze nobody'll notice the smell.

My dad has a polyp in his left nostril. One day, he made a point of having me smell (from a few feet away actually) some of the mucus that sometimes comes from it. He wanted me to better understand one of the bothersome things he goes through. Even from a few feet away, it smelled HORRIBLE! I can only try not to imagine how bad it must smell to him, being inside his nose.

Might want to check into nasal polyps.

Yes, you can have chronic infections that last many years. Some bacteria will form biofilms to evade the body attacking it
