First, I think it's more normal than the vote here would suggest.
Second, unless you're doing this pretty routinely, I would not freak out over the potential risks. If you were particularly inclined to UTI's, you'd know already and would have probably stopped this play on your own. If it feels good, do it; you're not likely to do irreparable harm in the short term. If you do end up with a urinary tract infection, see your doctor, and stop until you have time to recover. Then take it easy until you can find a balance between the pleasure and the consequences.
