When i look at cute clothing, i start crying..

I keep wondering through the internet, looking at cute sweaters, skirts and accessories, and every time I do, I feel an urge to cry.

I can't buy any of it, and I know I will never be able to buy it, but I keep staring at them. I hate going shopping or to go out of my house bc I hate seeing people's clothing.
I don't have any social media profile bc I know instagram, Facebook, twitter and a bunch of others will pop a lot of images of clothing and accessories, and eventually I'll be sad looking at them by the end of the day.

Do you guys feel the same? Do you guys also wish you could just die just to not see this bs again and feel like trash for not being able to buy what you want?

I feel the same, but I know that fashion is a very deep worm hole. So I just acknowledge that it's not a priority in my life at the moment and besides, there are still outfits that you can make cute even with a budget. Things like instead of wearing a shirt normally, tuck it into your jeans etc.

If it really affects you, I would say treat yourself to some nice accessories that are versatile enough to work with a lot of outfits. Sometimes, it really adds up.

Yeah, we all feel sad when we find something cool that we can't have, but with clothes, it isn't too far away. A really good outfit from a good store could cost over 100$, but there are ways around it. I'm planning on saving up to get some cool clothes, not much, but enough to have something cool to wear in public, and if you just set aside a bit of money at a time, you could at least get something. Also, thrift stores can be good if you are willing to take a lot of time to find what you're looking for. Pretty much, don't go straight for being sad you can't afford designer clothes, because if you slow down and look at it, you can find some ok stuff.

  • You can get some pretty nice used clothes around. I myself don't care about brands or crap like that. I mainly rock a pair of board shorts and a shirt with some narly skulls on it or some shit. But I'm a dude so I don't understand ladies

A few questions I think would be beneficial to ask yourself on this: Why do you feel you would never be able to afford these things?, (relating to the first question) Do you have any marketable skills, and/or are there any you would desire to learn?, and have you ever tried to make clothes similar to those you want to buy?

I understand that learning a new skill can be hard, and it seems you would need so much stuff to even begin making your own clothes, but you can make your own mannequin from just duct tape, and it will very closely resemble your own body. Sewing by hand takes a lot of time to perfect, but you can make some truly unique clothing in this way. It is possible to even set up a store on Etsy and sell the clothing you've created, possibly leading to your own online business. The best part of that is that your fashion sense is your own, and you can dress however you like.

There is a book by Dave Ramsey titled "Total Money Makeover" in which he quotes,"Live like no one else, so later, you can live like no one else.". Simply put, it means that sometimes you need to go about things in a smarter, possibly more difficult way now to lead the life you've imagined for yourself. Rent a movie instead of going to the theater. Ride a bike with a basket to the supermarket instead of spending money on gas or public transportation. Find less expensive ways to do the things that you want now to save money to invest in the future you want.

Regardless of what you choose, I know that with determination, hard work, and the ability to ask for help when necessary you will accomplish whatever you put your mind to.

    Thank you for your time.

    • Man, I even tried to start making my own clothes years ago but it costs a lot of money to buy cloth and sewing machine. I don't live on my own. I still living with my parents bc I can't get any job and have no money to live independently.
I draw and was expecting to print shirts with my designs, but my pc broke and I don't have conditions to buy another one.
I'm stuck studying something I don't like, not being able to get a job, not being able to do any manual work, not having money and still living with my parents.

And if you're gonna say "it's easy if you sell your drawings etc." I live in a countryside town where drawings are considered by most of the population as "kid's stuff"

"Oh, why don't you go to another town anyway?"

Yeah, and live under a bridge bc the rest of my family lives basically at the other side of the country and I'd need to travel by plane. There's nowhere I can go without becoming a homeless that at it's best would live my life by selling my ass around town so I could eat one meal per day.
I need to abandon everything I have to become a hobo? No thanks. I'd rather kill myself than rather being stuck in a state where I can't be useful for once and it's basically a dead weight in my family's life.
