Some people live in reality and some people don't. Simple as that. You see reality is very harsh and most people can't handle how harsh it really is, so they convince themselves that it really isn't "all that bad" and surround themselves in delusions.
Those "good people" you surround yourself with are only as good as society forces them to be.
