Firstly every living cell is technically alive. So your point is absurd. But obviously you're referring to a developing fetus.
The question is not if it's "life" or "alive" but whether or not it is developed enough to be viable. At the stage of a zygote it is nothing but a clump of cells and will continue to be until about the third trimester.
99% of abortions happen in the first trimester so essentially you religious nutjobs are inventing a problem where none exists and your solutions are fascistic and infantile.
