It was pot, summer of '72, I was 16, and it was at a Seventh Day Adventist Summer Camp. The clearest memory is of hearing Agent's "Hold Your Head Up" playing on my sorta-buddy's car radio. We're talking basic herbal pot here - not the super-power stuff you get these days - but I seriously felt I was in a place I really didn't want to be. The organ solo on that track freaked me out, and it just seemed to go on and on and on...
Every time that song plays on the radio, I'm back there.
I also got drunk and got naked with a girl for the first time at that Adventist summer camp. I'm sure our pastor would have been so proud. Even prouder that his son was one of our crowd.

Churches are good places for hedonistic pleasures, especially sexual taboos with other married couples. Glad you had a fun summer.
