When did you first get a smartphone?

I jumped on the bandwagon in 2010. It seems like 2010-2012 is when most people first got them. Prior to that, Nokia still dominated, and it was only a select handful of tech-nerds who owned them.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

    • Oh, my mom had that one. Yeah, it was probably the best smartphone you could own back in 2011. My step-dad back then had the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, which was also good.

  • When I was in university. I think in 2013, I bought a Samsung S3 and used it up until late 2019, when it broke and refused to turn on.

Bought an S7 Edge and still using it now. It was a good phone and if it hadn't broke, maybe I would have kept it.

  • I think it was 2014. It was a cheap little Virgin Mobile phone. Using the internet with my phone for the first time felt pretty cool. XD

  • 2013 I think???????I remember my best smartphone (that my mom now uses because it still works amazing so I gave it to her when hers broke lol) and I got that one 2014 but it definietely wasnt my first so my first was probably 2013.

  • A Samsung back in 2010. It was an awful, cheap little model, and I hated it. But hey, I got it for free, so no complaints. Nowadays, even the cheapest smartphones on sale are good, which definitely wasn't the case then.

  • I had a terrible Android phone with a big screen in 2011 but I don’t count that so it’s my 2015 iPhone. I found the Android in my December clear out and the plastic on the back had all melted.

    • The early smartphones ( pre-2012 ) were actually pretty unreliable and crappy.

      • You’re right, it was a hunk of junk, I switched to a little Nokia brick in 2014 and it was a relief.
