My dad bought our first flatscreen TV in 2005, it was a Sony Bravia and it was awesome. None of my friends at school had flatscreen tvs yet.
I bought my first TV, a Sharp something FHD tv in university in 2011 and used it up until about 4 years ago when I bought a bigger, curved, 3D, 4k Samsung that I plan to keep up until it breaks.
Why did curved tvs and 3D disappear?! I liked those.
curved 3D TVs weren't more expensive than today's ultra-slim 4K big-brand TVs.
Also they look cooler, even when they are off, they are part of the decor.
They say watching a movie in 4K is better than 3D and you don't get headaches. I've never gotten a headache watching 3D and as shiny and crisp 4K can be, it's still lacking a bit of depth. 3D literally tricks your brain into making the video 3D.
4K is just very high resolution.
But whatever, curved TVs are a forgotten fad now, still gonna keep mine tho XD.
When did you first get a flatscreen TV?

From what I was told, people considered curved TVs and 3D TVs impractical and too expensive, so not many people wanted to buy one.
