When’s the last time you had a good long cry?

When’s the last time you absolutely cried your eyes out until you couldn’t cry anymore?

For me it’s been a few years, I think I’m due one.

Going on 10 years, my beloved chihuahua pekins mix died after being with me for 16 years. So sad 😭

Last year when I realised I was 21 going on 22 with no job or idea what the hell I wanted or was supposed to do.

18 months later I have a job in a library, vague plans of what I want to do next and most importantly the realisation that nobody really has it “figured out”.

How do you find a job in a library please? Do you need any kind of diploma? I know it's not the same in every country but I was wondering.

My library’s run by the local council and I applied on their website. Not everyone who works there has a degree, especially the entry level people, at the interview they cared more about customer service experience and interest in books.

I’m not sure how it would work for a bigger more high profile library or outside of the UK though.

Thank you very much for the info.
It's gotta be something close in France.

  • Last November, had to put my grandmother with severe dementia in a nursing home. Her thoughts are no longer in the present and she was starting to hallucinate.

I found the girl I’d been looking for my whole life and spent 6 weeks elated then out of the blue she didn’t want to see me anymore and didn’t tell me why. oh god I was so crushed I’ve never cried like that in all my life

But you know what they say the higher you are the further the fall

Thanks Mel. I hurt, I made a whole heap of art and eventually got through it. I won’t say I’ll ever get fully over it but I just appreciate the happiness I felt for that short amount of time, it was like nothing else, and I’m glad to have experienced it

You're such a wonderful person. I hope the next woman realises her luck and treats you how you deserve.

I don't think we ever really get over love and the hurt of losing it. But being able to keep going is important.

Thank you, and likewise. Love is tough going and there is pain there because you open yourself up to it and leave yourself vulnerable. But the way I see it, is once the smoke clears, I choose to remember how happy it made me rather than how much it hurt me when it ended
I think people who hang onto the pain become closed off, bitter, resentful and you’re less likely to ever experience that happiness again, where you’re so in love it pushes all the things you normally worry about out of your head and all that matters is that person, and when you’re together it’s like you’re walking on clouds

Good question. I think it must've been back in spring this year. Long time ago for me, felt like crying today for no particular reason but no tears came out of me.

        I don't think I ever cried until I couldn't cry anymore. I'm sure I cried a lot tho.

Oddly, I can't remember. I'm a huge crier, always have been, but I think I might be kinda happy this year. I'm baffled.
