Everyone can choose to believe what they want. A lot of people think being gay is a sin, since it is taught at church and so. If they want to be that way, fine by me. It's a free country. I don't agree with it though, because like I said, it's a free country and if people want to date someone of the same sex I believe they should be allowed to do that without being discriminated against.
But I guess people will always be hateful towards others for whatever reason. That's just humanity.
People shold not be free to do whatever they want!
People should not be alowed to do things which actively compromise the quality of life of others (e.g. theft, rape, murder). Homophobia KILLS PEOPLE, and thus should be illegal as should any type of prejudice.
I never said people should be allowed to do whatever they want. I said people should be allowed to BELIEVE whatever they want. And yeah, I wish people weren't homophobic, yeah I wish there wasn't any prejudice, but wake up, that's never going to happen.
People will always find someway to single out other people and hate them, the world will never be without prejudice. I'm just being realistic here.
Look, it's great that you feel so strongly about this, really it is. But I have two points to make. Point number one, most homophobic people never harm anyone because of being gay. VERY few people actually do. Point number two, no matter how hard we try to stop prejudice, it will ALWAYS be there. No matter what.
Sorry, but knowing that there are people who condemn and see me as inferior for what I am ad cannot control harms me. Humans have evolved to care about how others think about them. Just because prejudice is natural and will always occur doesn't mean we shouldn't do all we can to minimise it and it certainly doesn't mean we should tolerate it.
Whats your view on homophobic people

People should be allowed to believe whatever they want, but they should not be allowed to express these beliefs if doing so is likely to harm others.
