    I have to say that her explanation makes a sort of sense to me. We live in an age when qualified experts in any field are often dismissed as elitist, out of touch with reality, and the source of nothing but Fake News, while loads of people believe that a random collection of strangers on the internet is the best source of good information.

      But how could she hope "someone somewhere would have an answer" if she didn't think it would blow up on social media?

      I dunno, you may be right, she may have thought someone on her friend list would know what to do
