I think that law is a bit excessive but how do you excersize children's rights? Its a complicated issue. But I do think kids should be allowed access. After discussing with a professional spending time living as etc. Much like it is with adults. Going from the data learned from those experiences if its something they truly want they should get it. I started when I was 19. It was the best decision of my life. I tried many years earlier but my mom wouldn't let me. My dad probably would have but he abandoned us so I was stuck with someone who didn't care enough about my happiness. Yes she had the money my dad was paying a small fortune in child support and no we never saw that money.
Being able to start my transition earlier one would have been amazing for my mental health rather than suffering through that living hell. Yea bullies would of been a problem but they already were a problem so nothing would of changed there. I was a social outcast already. At least I would of been a happy one.
If it wasn't for my determination and stubbornness I probably would of killed myself or turned to drugs or some other self destructive thing like so many poor souls do. Lord knows I've had temptations.
I say give people access to the resources they need to have a happy and productive life.
People should remember that genuine trans people exist. Maybe the teen years should be early enough to seek a special permission for transitioning (before that its just too early to tell), but not just because its something the child or parent said they wanted one day. Once adult one should be able to choose freely. Its difficult balancing people who may regret it and people who will never have a good life without that transitioning, especially when young
