But, Rowdy is right. What we have here is a classic case of elf pity. It doesn't become a woman, or a man. But it is becoming of small woodland creatures. It isn't YOUR problem that he is taking the p*ss and is an utter b*stard. It is HIS problem, do not be concerned with him anymore. The best thing you can do is get over it as soon as possible. Ensure that the kid grows up having a strong, independant mother who he knows can stand up for herself when need be. Do you need him to feel good about yourself? No.
Also, if you can, try dating somebody else or finding a hobby. I know its hard being a single mother but really try. Having a good supportive significant other can really boost your self confidence and give the child the environment he needs. Which are your two major concerns right now. Once you forgive yourself and build back your self esteem, everything will start to fall into place. Do not despair. You have an entire website of random people you will never meet just itching to give you advice.
