Whats the laws on serving food from a truck in different states

I was gonna scrape together animal products from wherever (roadkill, dumpsters, pet shelter)make hamburgers out of it give em fancy name and sell them as specialty burgers, serve em in a fancy looking bun (you know those brioche ones) put a pickle on the side and use thousand island sauce, sell em for $7.99 a piece. Question, which state can I do this.

  • This post is weird, whatever. BUT!
    Genuine question.

I read somewhere that some Americans aren’t even allowed to grow their own food, much less sell it. Is this true????

It would be interesting to know where you picked up that snippet of fake news.

It's been a long time since I lived in the States, but I'm sure there are still no rules against growing food for your own use and to pass on to people you personally know.

Most civilised parts of the world have rules governing the sale of foodstuffs. It's generally seen as a good thing if people shopping for food can be fairly certain that the lettuces weren't fertilised with raw sewage, the meat has been inspected and found to be fit for human consumption, processed foods don't contain toxic substances and so on.

      • From a local newspaper, had a column on strange American laws and facts and such.
Rural area, so being told where you can and can’t put your potatoes is shocking news

Many Americans have vegetable gardens in their back yard all over the country.

Our country is way overregulated... you need a permit or license to sell food to the general public.

I like how in the US at the age of 16, you can own a gun, drive an RV with a regular car license and no special training, get sexual reassignment surgery, vote at age 17, join the military, but can't drink beer.

You gotta be fully mature to be able to enjoy beer... A beverage that often has a legal limit of 16 in Europe, 14 in Germany XD.

Yet millions of tweens drink here every day. So much for laws

Well, that might be good, really. Imagine the numbers on the other stuff you listed if they could drink before that...

They can grow it but to sell you need a license.

      No, its not true.
Farmers markets are the only place to get fresh produce.
      But, it is seasonal.

Um you need licenses to sell produce. I am a farmer, I know.

Its messed up but I get it something to do with unfiltered water. If I ever get my own land I plan on building a big natural water purifier and collection system
